Peter Obi’s Integrity Earns Middle Belt Trust for 2027 Single-Term Promise

Peter Obi’s integrity wins Middle Belt Forum’s trust to honor his single-term presidency promise in 2027

Peter Obi’s integrity has won significant trust from the Middle Belt Forum, which believes the former presidential candidate and ex-governor of Anambra State will faithfully keep his promise to serve only a single term if elected president in 2027.

Dr. Bitrus Pogu, National President of the Middle Belt Forum (MBF), affirmed this while reacting to Obi’s vow to limit his presidency to one four-year term.

Pogu emphasized that Obi is a man of honour and integrity, known for keeping his promises.

“The Middle Belt has no reason to doubt Peter Obi because of his record of keeping to promises,” he stated.

Though Pogu clarified he was speaking solely for the Middle Belt and not the entire North, he highlighted the importance of constitutional and electorate decisions on term limits rather than sectional interests.

Yet, for now, the Middle Belt stands firmly behind Obi’s pledge.

Meanwhile, the Obidient Movement, backing Peter Obi, is gaining momentum in Ibadan ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The recent Oyo State Obidient Conference attracted party loyalists and political analysts united under the theme, “Going Forward 2027: A New Nigeria is Possible.”

In his keynote speech, Prof. Francis Egbokhare from the University of Ibadan urged Nigerians to restructure their mindset to break the cycle of governance failures.

He described Nigeria as “a giant lying prostrate, trampled by dwarfs,” and called for integrity, discipline, and a focused strategy to unlock the country’s true potential.

Yunusa reiterated Obi’s promise of a purposeful single term focused on essential human development, citing his impactful tenure as governor of Anambra State.

The movement aims not only for electoral victory but also for a government rooted in justice, fairness, and genuine service to the people.

Oyo State Coordinator Mr. Ayo Akinyemi described the gathering as a crucial step to unify supporters behind Obi as a credible agent of change for Nigeria.
