Obi made the remarks while visiting Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, former presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), in Kano during Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.
“We want to change Kano. We want to build a new Kano. What we want to do is ensure that we bring back the economic power of Kano,” Obi said.
He emphasised that the visit was not political but aimed at celebrating Sallah and showing solidarity with the people.
“I am here to felicitate with you on the occasion of Sallah and to pay my respects to our leader,” he added, praying for peace and continued unity.
Kwankwaso welcomed Obi and other dignitaries, describing the visit as a reflection of unity and goodwill among leaders across the country.
Present at the event were Seyi Makinde and Seriake Dickson, among other notable figures.
