Taminu Turaki-led National Working Committee (NWC) elected at the Ibadan National Convention.

In a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja, Wabara said the board believes the convention was held in full compliance with the party’s constitution, electoral guidelines, and the Electoral Act, reflecting the collective will of delegates and stakeholders across Nigeria.

Wabara condemned the invasion of the PDP National Secretariat by what he described as “expelled members and armed thugs” attempting to forcibly seize the premises.

He noted that the intruders tried to prevent the elected Turaki-led NWC, accompanied by the PDP Governors’ Forum Chairman Gov. Bala Mohammed, Gov. Seyi Makinde, and other party leaders, from entering the secretariat.

The BoT praised the courage and resilience of governors, NWC and BoT members, party leaders, and supporters for resisting the attack.

“The BoT strongly denounces the statements, actions, and media pronouncements by individuals lawfully expelled from the party.

Their attempts to undermine the Ibadan Convention and create confusion are not only mischievous but constitute a direct assault on internal democracy,” Wabara said.

He further urged the Inspector-General of Police to investigate the attacks and hold those responsible accountable, noting that democracy thrives only where institutions remain impartial, professional, and insulated from partisan manipulation.
