APC National Chairman Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, speaking at the flag-off ceremony held at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion in Ado-Ekiti, expressed optimism that Governor Oyebanji would secure re-election based on what he described as notable achievements across key sectors in the state.
Professor Yilwatda declared that the party was already confident of victory, attributing the momentum to what he called the governor’s impactful governance and widespread acceptance across Ekiti State.
The APC National Campaign Council Chairman and Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, also described the event as more than a campaign launch, framing it as a reaffirmation of trust between the government and the people.
He said the election represents continuity and consolidation, adding that it also carries national significance as a reflection of confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
Governor Oyebanji, in his remarks, highlighted his administration’s achievements, crediting the support of the federal government for helping deliver development projects across the state. He pledged to expand on those gains if re-elected.
He also urged residents to turn out massively on election day, linking support for his re-election bid with continued backing for President Tinubu.
“The only thing we can do to show appreciation to Tinubu is to come to the poll on 20 June to secure at least 500,000 votes for our party,” Oyebanji said.
The event drew a large gathering of political heavyweights, including governors Hope Uzodinma of Imo, Usman Ododo of Kogi, Monday Okpebholo of Edo, Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo, Uba Sani of Kaduna, Mohammed Bago of Niger, and Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State.
Former Ekiti governors Dr Kayode Fayemi, Ayodele Fayose, Chief Segun Oni, and Niyi Adebayo were also present, alongside top APC officials and other political stakeholders.
