The extension, announced by the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Olatunji Odunlami, is aimed at giving property owners and developers additional time to present or regularise their planning permits.

The move comes amid the state’s ongoing physical development audit, which seeks to verify and ensure compliance with urban planning regulations.

“This extension demonstrates the goodwill of the State Government,” Odunlami said, adding that it reflects the administration’s commitment to transparency, rule of law, and sustainable development.

According to the commissioner, affected property owners are expected to either present valid planning permits or approach the Ministry of Physical Planning and its agencies to regularise unapproved structures within the new deadline.

He emphasized that the Ogun property title audit is not a witch hunt, but a crucial part of a larger effort to achieve orderly and sustainable urban development across Ogun State.

Reassuring the public, Odunlami noted that the exercise is being carried out with fairness and openness, stating that “it does not derogate from any statutory actions already carried out on the matter.”
