Ogun State new judges sworn in by Governor Abiodun, who urges them to uphold justice, integrity, and the rule of law
Ogun State new judges were sworn in on Monday by Governor Dapo Abiodun, who charged them to uphold the values of justice, fairness, and integrity, serving as shields against oppression and proof that the rule of law always prevails.

The new appointees are:
- Justice Julius Ojikutu, former Chief Registrar of the Ogun State High Court, Abeokuta
- Justice Adejumoke Adewole, former Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development
- Justice Oluyemisi Adebo, former Secretary, Ogun State Judicial Service Commission
Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony, Governor Abiodun emphasized that the endurance of Nigeria’s democracy depends on judges of conscience who stand firm without fear or favour in upholding the law.
“You must let the fear of God, your conscience, and the Constitution of Nigeria guide your judgments,” he said.
The governor called on the judges to be fair, firm, and courageous in the face of pressure and to always put the interests of justice and the people above personal or political interests.
Governor Abiodun reminded the judges that their role is not only legal but deeply moral—ensuring that justice is accessible, impartial, and transparent to every citizen, regardless of status, tribe, religion, or political leaning.
“This is not merely a legal obligation; it is a moral one,” he said. “Let your guiding light be fairness, integrity, and the pursuit of justice.”
He also encouraged them to protect the sacred principle of the separation of powers, allowing the judiciary to operate independently while working harmoniously with the executive and legislature for the public good.
Governor Abiodun reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the judiciary, pledging continued respect for court judgments and investment in systems that guarantee swift and fair dispensation of justice.
“I stand here today a grateful beneficiary of the courage, impartiality, and fidelity to the rule of law shown by our courts,” he added.
“Our government will remain responsible and responsive in strengthening the judicial system.”
