The presentation was witnessed by senior party officials, including PDP National Chairman Abdulrahman Mohammed and National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu, alongside other party candidates during a formal ceremony at the party headquarters.

With the confirmation, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan is now positioned to contest for another term in the National Assembly, setting the stage for what is expected to be a closely watched and highly competitive race in Kogi State’s central senatorial district.

“This Certificate of Return is not just a document; it is a symbol of the trust and confidence that our party members and the people have placed in me. I accept it with humility, gratitude, and a renewed commitment to serve,” Akpoti-Uduaghan said shortly after receiving the party ticket.

The senator, who currently represents Kogi Central in the Senate, said her renewed mandate would be anchored on effective representation, accountability and policies aimed at improving living standards for Nigerians.

She also called on members of the Peoples Democratic Party to remain united and focused as preparations intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“The PDP remains a platform of hope for millions of Nigerians. We must continue to stand together, engage our communities, and work tirelessly to earn the trust and confidence of the people,” she said.

Akpoti-Uduaghan emphasised the need for leaders to demonstrate integrity and deliver tangible results to citizens, stressing that political office must be tied to service and responsibility.

“Our responsibility as leaders and candidates is to inspire confidence through service, integrity, and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of our people,” she added.

She further advocated for issue-based campaigning, stronger grassroots mobilisation and policies focused on economic opportunity, justice and national development.

Political analysts say her emergence as the PDP flagbearer reinforces her influence within Kogi State politics, where she has built a profile as a vocal advocate for infrastructure development, education reform, women empowerment and transparency in governance.

Her return to the ballot is expected to intensify political competition in Kogi Central, a district widely regarded as one of the most strategically significant in the state’s political landscape.

The development also signals the early shaping of alliances and contest lines ahead of the 2027 elections, as parties begin to consolidate support bases and refine campaign strategies.
