Niger State Tourism Commissioner, Ladidi Bosso (Mai Alert), resigns to run for Bosso/Paiko Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 elections
The Niger State Commissioner for Tourism, Ladidi Bosso, popularly known as Mai Alert, has officially resigned from her position in the state executive council to pursue a political career in the 2027 general elections.

Bosso announced her resignation to focus on contesting for the House of Representatives seat representing Bosso/Paiko Federal Constituency.
She expressed gratitude to Governor Umar Bago and the Niger State government for the opportunity to serve and pledged to continue contributing to the development of her constituency at the national level.
The Ministry of Tourism confirmed that ongoing activities and services will continue uninterrupted despite her departure.
The state government has yet to announce a replacement for Bosso.
Her resignation follows a directive from the Niger State Government requiring all political appointees and public office holders intending to run in the 2027 elections to step down by March 23, 2026.
The Secretary to the Government of Niger State, Abubakar Usman, issued the instruction in line with the revised 2027 electoral timetable released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Usman stated, “All political appointees and other government officials who desire to contest for elective positions are advised to resign their appointments by March 23, 2026, to meet the one-month requirement before party primaries commence from April 23, 2026.”

Bosso’s decision marks a significant step toward the upcoming electoral contests, signalling her intention to actively participate in national legislative politics.
