Leke Abejide ADC leadership crisis escalates as he sues suspended party faction. Rejects coalition, insists on constitutionally-backed party control

Breaking his silence, Abejide firmly rejected any form of coalition, warning that he won’t allow “people from nowhere” to hijack the party he helped build.
Speaking to Tribune, he insisted that the Kogi State ADC faction led by Kingsley Ogga lacks legal standing, citing Ogga’s prior suspension from the party since 2022.
“Coalition of what? The coalition is dead on arrival,” Abejide declared. “ADC will not be available for such a coalition or they should go back and register their new party, ADA.”
He also questioned the legitimacy of Senator Tunde Ogbeha’s ADC meeting, claiming constitutional violations.
Abejide, who has served over eight years as the party’s national financial secretary, emphasized that the party’s constitution requires NEC approval before any leadership changes — a meeting he, as a ranking NEC member, was never notified about.
Calling the current ADC faction “unknown to the party structure,” Abejide vowed to pursue the case in court and expose the attempted hijack.
He revealed that Chief Ralph Nwosu had informed him of new members joining, but not to replace existing leadership — a shift he now views as a betrayal.
“This mistake cannot be corrected. We will show them the way out,” he added, promising to hold a press conference to clarify the party’s stance and future direction.
