Kano Commissioner Resignation has stirred political ripples after Alhaji Ibrahim Namadi, the Kano State Commissioner for Transportation, resigned following allegations linking him to the controversial bail of a suspected drug baron, Sulaiman Danwawu.

In a statement issued by Sanusi DawakinTofa, Director General, Media and Publicity at the Kano Government House, Namadi’s decision was framed as a move to protect the administration’s integrity and uphold public trust.
“As a member of an administration that has consistently championed the fight against the sales and consumption of illicit drugs, it behoves me to take this step painful as it may be,” Namadi stated.
While asserting his innocence, Namadi emphasized the need to shield the government from negative public perception, especially on issues concerning the fight against drugs.

He thanked Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for the opportunity to serve and reaffirmed his loyalty to the administration’s principles and vision for Kano State.
Governor Yusuf, through his spokesperson Sunusi Bature, acknowledged and accepted the resignation, praising Namadi’s service and wishing him success in future endeavors.
“The governor reiterates the administration’s unwavering stance on justice, discipline, and the fight against drug-related crimes and social vices affecting the youth and the broader society,” the statement added.

The governor also cautioned other political appointees to act prudently and consult higher authorities when dealing with sensitive matters of public concern.
