Lagos APC Denies Chairman Ordered Emergency Meeting

Lagos APC emergency meeting denial confirms State Chairman Cornelius Ojelabi issued no directive amid viral rumours

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has dismissed reports claiming its State Chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi, instructed Supervisory Leadership Groups and supervisors to converge at the party secretariat following alleged Presidential Villa directives.

The party’s spokesman, Mogaji Seye Oladejo, described the circulating report as false, misleading and deliberately aimed at creating unnecessary anxiety within the party and the public.

Oladejo clarified that no such directive was issued and no emergency meeting convened, contrary to claims in some quarters.

The Lagos APC stressed it remains a disciplined and law-abiding organisation, guided by transparency, due process and collective decision-making.

“At no time did the State Chairman issue any such directive, nor is there any emergency meeting scheduled as being speculated. The Lagos APC remains a disciplined, transparent and law-abiding political party,” Oladejo said.

He added that the party is concentrating on consolidating internal structures and mobilising members across the state in preparation for the forthcoming national elections.

“Our primary focus at this critical time remains putting every necessary structure in place as we count down to the forthcoming national elections. We are fully committed to strengthening our internal processes and mobilising effectively to ensure continued progress and victory at the polls,” he stated.

The party also cautioned members, supporters and the public against spreading unverified information capable of inflaming tensions.

“We therefore advise party members, supporters and the general public to desist from spreading or entertaining rumours capable of needlessly heating up the polity,” the statement concluded.
