G37 support for INEC Chairman Amupitan as group urges Nigerians to trust INEC and avoid distractions affecting electoral credibility

Speaking in Abuja on Sunday, the group’s National Coordinator, Prince Evans City, stressed the importance of public confidence in the electoral body, describing INEC as central to the protection and stability of Nigeria’s democracy.

Prince City warned that persistent criticism and unverified allegations against the INEC leadership could erode public trust and distract the commission from its constitutional responsibilities.

He urged Nigerians to remain focused and constructive in their engagement with electoral processes, adding that political stability depends heavily on confidence in democratic institutions.

The G37 support for INEC Chairman Amupitan statement also emphasised the need for politicians and stakeholders to pursue grievances through lawful and peaceful channels rather than through actions that could heighten political tension.

Prince City further commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as efforts to maintain an open political environment that allows parties to operate without undue interference.

According to the group, such an environment is essential for strengthening democratic participation and ensuring inclusivity within the political system.
