The nominations, submitted approximately three weeks after the governor dismissed eight commissioners and relieved all Special Advisers, were forwarded to the Martin Amaewhule-led Assembly. None of the sacked commissioners were included in the new list.
The invitation, contained in a special government announcement dated March 3 and signed by Clerk Emeka Amadi, instructed nominees to submit 40 sets of their curriculum vitae, copies of credentials, and proof of tax compliance.
The nominees include Professor Datonye Alasia, Mr Tonye Bellgam, Professor Temple Nwofor, Dr Peters Nwagor, Mrs Charity Deemua, Tamuno Williams, Mr Lekue Kenneth, Otonye Amachree, and Amairigha Edward Hart.
The development follows a political reconciliation between Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, facilitated by President Bola Tinubu, which led to the withdrawal of impeachment proceedings against the governor and his deputy.
