Edo Deputy Governor Reaffirms Loyalty to Governor Okpebholo Amid Online Plots

Edo Deputy Governor Dennis Idahosa affirms loyalty to Governor Okpebholo, dismissing online plots and supporting the SHINE Agenda

In a statement made available to journalists, Idahosa dismissed alleged attempts to sow discord between him and the governor as “dead on arrival,” describing those behind the claims as distractors unsettled by the practical governance of the administration.

“It has come to my attention that certain individuals, unsettled by the unity between my boss, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and myself, have resorted to sponsoring false narratives online,” Idahosa said.

“Let it be clearly stated that their efforts will amount to nothing. As long as my boss, my senior brother, and I remain united, such plans are bound to fail.”

Idahosa vowed to stand firmly by the governor despite online smear campaigns targeting government officials.

“I stand solidly behind my boss like the Rock of Gibraltar. I stand where he stands, and I sit where he sits. Any attempt to divide us or weaken our team is dead on arrival. They are simply wasting their time,” he added.

The deputy governor also urged residents of Edo State to remain supportive of the administration as it focuses on delivering its SHINE Agenda, a policy framework aimed at improving security, health, infrastructure, nourishment, and education.

The relationship between Governor Okpebholo and Idahosa has come under public scrutiny in recent months, particularly as the state prepares for the 2027 general elections.
