Cubana Chief Priest supports Tinubu, urging South-East and Igbo people to back the President in 2027 for strategic political gains
Popular celebrity barman and socialite, Paschal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has called on the South-East and Igbo communities to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

The appeal was made on his Instagram page on Thursday while reacting to a viral video of Lawrence Agubuzu, traditional ruler of the Ezema Olo Kingdom in Enugu State.
In the video, the monarch requested President Tinubu to facilitate the release of the detained leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
Chief Priest praised the royal father for speaking up and urged the President to consider the plea.
“Mr President, we will do all we can, but please hear our cry, @officialasiwajubat. The message is very clear. God bless Your Royal Highness for participating in Nigeria,” he wrote.
He emphasised that alignment with the government is essential to securing political outcomes for the region.
Chief Priest further highlighted Tinubu’s political influence, citing his role in the election victories of former President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015 and himself in 2023.
He argued that supporting Tinubu now would increase the likelihood of producing an Igbo president in the future.
“Let us move along with Nigeria. In the last election, Tinubu won without the South-East; it is clear he will win again. So why not give him the votes so he can do what we ask of him in return? Hopefully, he will hand over power to an Igbo man,” he said.
The socialite underscored that strategic political alignment with Tinubu would serve the Igbo people’s interests, noting the President’s nationwide political network and capacity to secure electoral victories.
“The Igbo people’s best stake is with Asiwaju. Just think about it. The man has the best political structure in the country to win an election. Let us not waste our votes,” he added.
The comments have sparked mixed reactions on social media.
