APC vote fraud claim made by ADC as Atiku Abubakar’s aide alleges APC manufactured figures during its presidential primary ahead of 2027 elections
Mr Paul Ibe, Media Aide to African Democratic Congress, ADC, presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar in Abuja accused the All Progressives Congress, APC, of allegedly manufacturing vote figures during its presidential primary election, describing the process as a “dress rehearsal” for potential manipulation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The allegation formed part of a wider political exchange over the credibility of internal party processes, as Ibe insisted that the ADC operates a transparent system that differs sharply from what he described as practices within the ruling party.
APC vote fraud claim was made during an appearance on programme, where Ibe argued that figures announced during the APC presidential primary lacked credibility and were not reflective of a genuine electoral process.
During the APC presidential primary election, President Bola Tinubu emerged as the party’s candidate with over 10 million votes, while Atiku Abubakar secured 1,855,787 votes in a separate internal contest that produced him as ADC’s flag bearer.
Ibe, however, dismissed the APC figures, alleging that they were artificially constructed. He maintained that such practices, in his view, undermined democratic credibility and set a dangerous precedent for future elections.
According to him, the ADC vote fraud claim narrative being advanced by the opposition party reflects a commitment to internal transparency, with its National Executive Committee reportedly present throughout its own primary process.
He stressed that the ADC’s procedures were open and verifiable, adding that the party remained committed to ensuring fairness and credibility in its internal elections.
“The process has been open and transparent, and it is still ongoing,” Ibe said during the broadcast. “Allegations have been made, but until they are substantiated with evidence, they remain mere allegations.”
The remarks come amid growing political tension between major parties as preparations intensify for the 2027 general elections, with increased scrutiny on internal party democracy and candidate selection processes.
