APC leaders express solidarity with Niger State government over the Niger school abduction, praying for safe recovery of the pupils.
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Nentawe Yilwatda, in Minna on 27 November 2025, led members of the APC National Working Committee on a sympathy visit to Governor Mohammed Umaru-Bago following the abduction of pupils from St. Mary’s School, Papiri, in Agwara Local Government Area.

The visit underscored the party’s support for the government and people of Niger State in the aftermath of the troubling incident.
“Our hearts are heavy, and we stand in solidarity with the government and people of the state in this moment of grief,” Nentawe Yilwatda said, decrying the rising cases of kidnapping across the country and highlighting the particularly alarming frequency of such attacks.
He commended the efforts of security agencies, noting that measures directed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu were beginning to yield positive results.
Nentawe Yilwatda also prayed for the safe and speedy recovery of the abducted pupils.
The APC national chairman praised Governor Mohammed Umaru-Bago for his developmental initiatives and commitment to religious tolerance, describing harmonious coexistence as essential for national stability during this critical period.
Governor Umaru-Bago expressed appreciation for the visit, describing it as a demonstration of unity and brotherhood within the party.
He called for continued prayers for the safe return of the missing children and for sustainable peace in Niger State and the wider nation.

He reiterated that Niger State remains committed to peaceful coexistence regardless of religious differences and highlighted the strength derived from its diverse population.
