The denial was made in a statement issued to newsmen on Wednesday by the Office of the Senate President.

The statement said the Senate President has no affiliation with, or operational knowledge of, the internal affairs, appointments, or activities of any political support group, including those using the TAT name.

“Such groups are voluntary associations formed independently by their members, who act on their own initiative in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Akpabio, and do not require the approval, endorsement, or authorization of the President of the Senate,” the statement added.

Senator Akpabio, through his media aide Hon. Eseme Eyiboh, further clarified that he does not know Hon. Aondoaver Nyakuma and has never appointed him or any other individual to any position within a political support group.

The statement also stressed that the Senate President maintains a cordial relationship with the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, and does not represent Benue State in the National Assembly.

It highlighted that Senator Akpabio’s role is national, constitutional, and institutional, and he has no obligation to intervene in intra-state political matters.
