The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, made the remarks during an interview on Channels Television programme The Morning Brief, where he reacted to a ruling delivered by the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
Bolaji Abdullahi described the judgment as a positive development for the party but insisted that it represented only one phase in what he characterised as an ongoing and complex ADC leadership legal battle.
He said the party would acknowledge and celebrate the court’s decision while remaining focused on further legal proceedings, stressing that the dispute was far from resolved.
Abdullahi likened the situation to a prolonged contest, noting that while individual rulings may be seen as victories, the broader legal struggle continues.
He maintained that the party had demonstrated resilience and readiness to pursue the matter through all available judicial channels.
The ADC spokesperson confirmed that the party accepts the Supreme Court’s ruling and is prepared to return to the Federal High Court as directed. He added that the party had confidence in its legal position and would continue to pursue what it described as fair resolution under the law.
Abdullahi also commended the justices of the Supreme Court, describing their handling of the case as thorough and detailed, and said the party respected the judicial process.
He further argued that leadership disputes within political parties raise complex legal questions, reiterating the party’s position that it remains confident in its case at the lower court level.
According to him, the ADC will continue to explore all lawful avenues available whenever it believes it has been treated unfairly, emphasising that the judiciary remains the ultimate arbiter of political disputes.
The party maintained that the matter represents a marathon legal process rather than a quick resolution, signalling that further court engagements are expected in the coming months.
