ADC Inaugurates Delta Committee to Challenge Tinubu, Oborevwori

ADC inaugurates Delta State Committee to mobilise support and challenge President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori in the 2027 elections

Asaba, Delta State – December 11, 2025 – The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has inaugurated its Delta State Committee in Asaba, with the declared aim of unseating President Bola Tinubu and Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in the 2027 general elections.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, explained that the committee will establish offices at state, local government, ward, and unit levels while promoting awareness and engagement with the public. Abdullahi emphasised the ADC’s commitment to justice, equity, and transparency, which he described as central to the party’s approach to politics.

“The important thing is that we in ADC are very clear that the problem Nigeria has today is as a result of the kind of politics we have played over the years,” Abdullahi said.

“If you are going to set Nigeria on a different trajectory and make politics work for the people, we have to play a different type of politics.”

Abdullahi criticised the current administration’s performance in Delta State, citing the lack of development despite the state’s resources.

“So you ask yourself, ‘Delta is one of the most resourced states in Nigeria, why has it remained like this?’ It means the government has not worked for the people,” he added.

The ADC leadership framed the initiative not only as a political campaign but also as a national rescue effort aimed at providing ordinary Nigerians with a platform to participate meaningfully in governance. Abdullahi positioned the party as the credible opposition capable of delivering change in Delta State.
