Regional Colligate Coordinator for the South-South, Onochie Osheokwu, made the call during an interview on Arise Television, saying the South represents the best choice for the party’s presidential candidate.
According to Osheokwu, Nigerians are aware of the strongest contender, referencing former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi from the Southeast, who he believes embodies the conscience and leadership qualities sought by citizens.
He stated, “We in the South-South want the ADC to zone its presidential ticket to the South. Among all the contenders, we believe the best candidate is clear. He embodies the conscience of the movement and the leadership Nigerians are seeking.”
Osheokwu also criticized the current state of Nigerian politics, saying, “What happened at Chief John Odigie-Oyegun was a consultation. But it’s so bad that the politics of Nigeria has been reduced to propaganda and not the basic issues confronting the country.”
