Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, is set to swear in three commissioners-designate and 10 Special Advisers on Wednesday as part of efforts to constitute his cabinet for his second term in office.
The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Osuntokun Pavilion, Government House, Ado-Ekiti, at 2pm.
The governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Olayinka Oyebode, announced the development in a statement issued on Monday night, confirming that the Ekiti State House of Assembly had approved the appointments.
The three commissioners-designate are Dayo Apata (SAN), who is expected to serve as Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice; Akintunde Oyebode, nominated for the Ministry of Finance; and Dr Oyebanji Filani, nominated for the Ministry of Health and Human Services.
The 10 Special Advisers are Professor James Olaleye, for e-GIS, Lands and Survey; James Folorunso, Bureau of Public Procurement; Dr John Moyo Ekundayo, Office of Transformation, Strategy and Delivery; Bunmi Talabi, Bureau of Special Projects; and Olayinka Oyebode, Media.
Others are Princess Adetoun Agboola, Special Education and Social Inclusion; Dr Gbenga Oyewole, Development, Planning and Budget; Kayode Adaramodu, Economic Affairs and Private Sector Development; Ebenezer Boluwade, Agriculture and Food Security; and Professor Akeem Azeez, Special Duties.
According to the governor’s spokesperson, the list of Special Advisers comprises two new appointees and eight officials who served in the immediate past administration.
Oyebanji had forwarded the names of the three commissioner-nominees and requested approval for the appointment of 10 Special Advisers from the Assembly on October 27, shortly after his inauguration for a second term.
The Assembly subsequently screened and confirmed the nominees, while also approving the request for the 10 Special Advisers.
The appointments are part of the governor’s efforts to constitute key components of his second-term administration and ensure continuity in critical areas of governance.
Oyebanji was re-elected in the June 20, 2026 governorship election and inaugurated for another four-year term on October 16.
