ActionAid reports tampered result sheets in FCT Area Council polls, highlighting missing uploads and delayed BVAS results during the weekend elections
Andrew Mamedu has raised concerns over irregularities in the recently concluded FCT Area Council elections, stating that a significant number of result sheets were tampered with and some uploaded results were not visible.

Speaking on Arise Television’s ‘Morning Show’ on Monday, Mamedu noted delays in the uploading of results via the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) and discrepancies in voter turnout, with some polling units reporting only seven participants.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, conducted the weekend elections, in which the ruling All Progressives Congress won five Area Councils including AMAC, Bwari, Kwali, Kuje, and Abaji, while the People’s Democratic Party claimed Gwagwalada.
“We are aware of some polling units where only seven people came out to vote. Polls closed by 2:30 pm but the BVAS upload of result sheets didn’t come in until late in the evening. Nigerians need to demand more from INEC,” Mamedu said.
