President Tinubu Mourns Justice Mukhtar Dodo’s Passing

President Bola Tinubu mourns Justice Mukhtar Dodo, describing the late retired jurist as a fearless, patriotic Nigerian who dedicated his life to strengthening the nation’s judicial system.

Justice Mukhtar Muhammad Dodo (rtd), a respected legal luminary from Katsina State, passed away on Sunday at the age of 70 after a distinguished career in the Nigerian judiciary.

Before his retirement, Dodo served as Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and later as a High Court judge of the Federal Capital Territory, where he was widely regarded for his integrity and commitment to justice.

In a condolence message issued on Monday, President Tinubu paid tribute to the late justice’s contributions to judicial reform and the rule of law.

“Justice Dodo was an upright judicial officer, a patriotic Nigerian and a fearless jurist who spent his life contributing to the strengthening of Nigeria’s judicial system,” the President said.

The President also prayed for the peaceful repose of Justice Dodo’s soul and for divine comfort for his family, colleagues, and the people of Katsina State.

He urged members of the bench and bar to uphold the values of fairness and impartiality that the late jurist exemplified throughout his service to the nation.
