In a statement issued on Monday, Jibrin, who represents Kiru and Bebeji Constituency, confirmed his resignation from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and the Kwankwasiyya Movement, led by former Kano Governor Dr Rabiu Kwankwaso.
Jibrin was warmly welcomed by thousands of constituents in his hometown of Kofa, Bebeji Local Government Area, where he publicly declared his allegiance to the APC. Over 2,000 Islamic clerics (Ulamas) offered prayers for the president, Kano State, and Nigeria’s peace and development.
The return to APC comes two months after Jibrin’s expulsion from the NNPP, reportedly over anti-party activities and non-payment of membership dues.
