Atiku, Obi Alliance 2027 Branded a Failed Strategy as FG Dismisses Opposition’s Chances of Defeating Tinubu

Atiku and Obi Alliance 2027 won’t unseat Tinubu, says FG. Keyamo calls the move outdated and dismisses opposition figures as no threat to Nigeria’s future

Atiku and Obi Alliance 2027 has been dismissed by the Federal Government as an “unfruitful adventure,” with Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo declaring it a political misfire that cannot unseat President Bola Tinubu.

Speaking on a political affairs show, Keyamo sharply criticized the idea of a united front between former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party’s Peter Obi.

He likened their strategy to “expired 419 tactics” and called it a superficial political stunt.

Keyamo warned that Nigerians are already familiar with such alignments and will not be swayed.

He also questioned the credibility of opposition leaders, accusing one of flaunting luxury while claiming to represent the poor.

He affirmed that Tinubu’s administration is steering the economy in the right direction, citing rising government revenue, stable reserves, and a recovering naira.

Regarding the 2023 election figures, he argued that merging Obi and Atiku’s votes won’t surpass Tinubu’s 8.4 million.

According to him, key Obi demographics — youth, Christian voters, and the South-East — would not rally behind him if he becomes a vice-presidential candidate.
