PRP Chairman Hails Surge of Interest in Party Growth

PRP interest in party growth rises as Hakeem Baba-Ahmed says politicians are joining the party ahead of future elections in Nigeria

The National Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has disclosed that the party is experiencing a notable surge in interest from politicians ahead of future elections, describing it as a sign of growing confidence in the party’s direction.

Baba-Ahmed said the PRP interest in party growth has become evident in recent weeks, with several political actors reaching out to express willingness to join the party.

“In the last three or four weeks, you will be amazed at how many people have reached out to us and said, ‘We’re coming over to your party,’” he said.

He stated that the party remains open to new entrants, particularly those who feel excluded from their current political platforms or are seeking what he described as a principled alternative.

“Our doors are open to anybody who wants to come in, either on their own or because the system has blocked and virtually destroyed their party,” he added.

Baba-Ahmed emphasised that the incoming interest is not driven by political desperation but by alignment with the party’s longstanding ideology and values.

He described the PRP as one of Nigeria’s oldest political movements, built on decades of ideological consistency.

“We are about 70 years old. We have always stood on certain principles,” he said.

He also expressed optimism about the party’s future role in national politics, noting that the coming months could mark a significant expansion of its influence.

“We see our role in the next few months as far, far greater than anything we have done before,” he said.

While acknowledging that time remains a challenge in building political momentum, he insisted that Nigerians are increasingly seeking meaningful change in governance.

“We know Nigerians are ready for real difference, real change in the way this country is run,” he added.

According to Baba-Ahmed, the party has already begun engaging interested individuals but maintains clear entry conditions, requiring formal membership before further political discussions.
