The forum, chaired by Senator Bala Mohammed, issued a statement signed by Dr Emmanuel Agbo, Director-General of PDP-GF in Abuja, emphasising respect for the judiciary as a cornerstone of fairness, impartiality, and democratic stability.
“Whatever the outcome of the court’s ruling, the PDP reaffirms its respect for the judicial process and its commitment to peace,” the statement said.
The governors’ forum called on party members to demonstrate discipline and maturity, urging law-abiding behaviour before, during, and after the court delivers its judgment. Party leadership will convene immediately after the ruling to assess implications and determine the next steps.
Highlighting PDP’s historical role in strengthening Nigeria’s democratic institutions, the statement assured members that the party remains committed to providing a credible platform for contesting and winning elections, including the upcoming 2027 general polls.
“Democracy thrives on diversity of voices, competition of ideas, and the ability of citizens to freely choose from credible alternatives,” the statement added.
