Nasarawa governor’s aide Ibrahim Mohammed-Lawal urges INEC to sanction early campaign violators and protect electoral integrity in the state
Ibrahim Mohammed-Lawal, personal aide to Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission to sanction politicians violating the electoral act through early campaigning.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Mohammed-Lawal emphasised that political actors must adhere to the rules to maintain unity, peace, and development in the state.
He warned that despite the ban on political campaigns, some individuals continue to engage in premature and unlawful political activities.
“We hereby call on INEC to take note of these violations and apply appropriate sanctions, in line with the Electoral Act, to deter further abuse of the democratic process,” he said.
The aide also urged All Progressives Congress stakeholders to respect decisions made by the party’s State Working Committee, describing these decisions as collective, lawful, and binding.
He added that party supremacy must not be subordinated to personal ambition or external interests.
Mohammed-Lawal highlighted the APC’s commitment to governance, national renewal, and development, stressing the importance of consolidating the gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
“We stand firmly with President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sule against any plot to distract, discredit, or derail governance in Nasarawa State. Our focus remains on governance, development, reforms, and purposeful leadership,” he said.
