The defection was confirmed on Sunday by the Zamfara State APC Publicity Secretary, Yusuf Idris, who said Bindin joined the ruling party alongside a group of supporters after consultations.
Bindin was formally received into the APC by the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, during a meeting held earlier in Abuja.
According to Idris, the former local government administrator served for one year under the administration of Governor Dauda Lawal before leaving office.
He also previously held the position of Programme Manager at the Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board during the PDP-led government in the state.
Idris said Bindin cited dissatisfaction with the performance of the PDP-led administration in Zamfara as a key factor behind his decision to leave the party.
While welcoming the defectors at his Abuja residence, Matawalle urged them to contribute meaningfully to the growth and consolidation of the APC in the state.
