The clarification was issued on Tuesday by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Yusuf Idris, in a statement dismissing the claims as false.
Idris stated that the APC leadership in Zamfara is not aware of any decision or agreement regarding a candidate for the 2027 polls.
He emphasised that aspirants interested in contesting under the party’s platform will emerge solely through officially sanctioned primaries.
“The APC does not select candidates through stakeholders’ meetings or informal arrangements,” Idris said, highlighting the party’s commitment to procedural fairness and transparency.
The statement comes amid growing political activities in Zamfara State, as several figures position themselves for elective offices ahead of the 2027 elections.
The APC has faced internal disputes in the past over candidate selection, which have previously affected its performance in state polls.
