APC Aspirants Reject Yobe Chairman Over Bias Claims

Yobe APC chairman vote of no confidence declared by six aspirants over alleged bias ahead of primary elections in Yobe State

Six governorship aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have passed a vote of no confidence in the Yobe State APC Chairman, Alhaji Mohammed Gadaka, accusing him of bias, partiality and compromised conduct ahead of the party’s primary elections.

Vote of no confidence was announced in a statement issued after a meeting held in Abuja on Tuesday, where the aspirants expressed deep concerns over the chairman’s role in the upcoming electoral process.

According to the group, Alhaji Mohammed Gadaka has shown repeated signs of partisanship, which they claim undermines his ability to conduct a free, fair and credible direct primary election in the state.

They therefore called for his immediate withdrawal from all matters relating to the supervision and organisation of the Yobe State APC primary elections.

“Following the continuous apparent partisanship displayed by the Yobe State APC Chairman, it is very clear that the APC chairman is highly compromised and the aspirants do not have confidence that he is capable of holding or supervising a free, fair, transparent and credible direct primary election,” the statement read.

“In the light of the above, the aspirants strongly demand the immediate withdrawal of the Yobe State APC Chairman from all matters relating to the conduct and supervision of the Yobe state primary election.”

Despite their grievances, the aspirants reaffirmed their loyalty to the national leadership of the APC and expressed continued support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid.
