Umo Eno supplementary budget signed into law as ₦60bn is released to speed up Akwa Ibom’s priority projects. Governor pledges transparency and delivery.
Umo Eno supplementary budget of ₦69 billion has been signed into law by the Akwa Ibom State Governor, marking a major step toward accelerating the implementation of government programmes and infrastructure delivery.

The signing took place on Wednesday at the October edition of the State Project Delivery Meeting held at Government House, Uyo, according to a statement from the Government House Press Unit.
Governor Eno praised the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly for its swift passage of the bill and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and timely delivery of public services.
“Let me assure the people of Akwa Ibom State that all hands are on deck,” he said. “With the passage and signing of the supplementary budget today, we are further fired up to ensure full implementation of government programmes and projects.”
As part of the rollout plan, Eno announced the immediate release of ₦60 billion to contractors with verified Interim Payment Certificates. He instructed Ministries, Departments, Agencies, and Delivery Advisors to enforce strict compliance with project timelines and standards.
Umo Eno supplementary budget focuses on priority projects across various sectors. During the meeting, key updates were provided on strategic initiatives including the Tree Crop Revolution, State Electricity Market, Ibom Tourism Summit, Arise Senior Citizens Centre, CNG City Bus Project, Court of Appeal Complex, and the renovation of Ibom Hotels and Golf Resort.
Other major infrastructure efforts include the Oron Maritime and Jetty Project, Ikot Ekpene International Market, Itam Industrial Park, and Ibom International Hospital.
Speaker of the House, Udeme Otong, praised the governor’s results-oriented leadership, noting that the monthly delivery review sessions were creating a new standard of accountability and sectoral transparency in the state.
“We have never witnessed this kind of delivery review in our state. It gives us a clear understanding of what is happening across sectors,” Otong remarked.
Also present at the session, Senator Effiong Bob and other stakeholders commended the governor’s inclusive governance style and consistent oversight.
They expressed strong support for the administration’s fiscal prudence, innovation, and commitment to timely service delivery.

The supplementary budget aims to reinforce ongoing development efforts in Akwa Ibom and boost investor and public confidence in the government’s capacity to meet its promises.
