He made the remarks during an interfaith Ramadan fast-breaking event at the Presidential Villa on Monday, hosting religious and traditional leaders.

Addressing the gathering, Tinubu emphasized that intensified efforts by security agencies are weakening insurgent operations nationwide.

“Yes, we are challenged; the terrorists are very desperate now because they are getting barraged and defeated, they leave trails of blood in their wake. But I assure you of one thing: Nigeria will never surrender. We are not discouraged. We are going to win and win well,” he said.

The president called on religious and traditional leaders to continue promoting peace, moral guidance, and community cohesion, citing their vital role in sustaining national stability.

Beyond security, Tinubu highlighted progress in stabilizing Nigeria’s economy since his administration assumed office:

  1. Pensioners are receiving relief gradually.
  2. States no longer scramble for bank loans to pay salaries.
  3. Strategic focus is on strengthening agriculture and education.

“It was very daunting and challenging when we took over. But today I can say with pride and joy that we have survived,” the president said.

He urged Nigerians to maintain hope, assuring that the government remains focused on building a safer, more prosperous nation.

The event brought together leaders from Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones, reflecting unity across religions.

  •  Yahaya Abubakar praised the gathering as a symbol of national unity and prayed for peace and guidance.
  •  Daniel Okoh assured the president of the church’s support for economic transformation and national security initiatives.
