Minister Adegboyega Oyetola says APC is ready to reclaim Osun State, citing unity, performance, and grassroots efforts ahead of August 15 election
Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, has expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is poised to reclaim power in Osun State ahead of the August 15 governorship election.

Oyetola made the remarks during the annual Ileri‑Oluwa special Ramadan lecture at his residence in Boripe Local Government Area, citing the APC’s track record, grassroots work, and achievements as evidence that the party is well-positioned for victory.
“We have been working day and night, reaching out to youths, artisans, professionals and rural communities to secure victory in the next governorship election,” he said, commending party members for their dedication.
The minister also warned political opponents that they “await red card,” taking a swipe at what he described as political critics, while emphasising that party unity since 2022 has insulated the APC from propaganda and self-promotion.
Oyetola urged for peace, unconditional love, and unity during the Ramadan period, advising Muslims to avoid actions that could invalidate their fasting.
The guest lecturer, Sheikh Muhammad Jamiu Sanusi, spoke on “Humanity in Leadership: Islamic Principles of Governance and Loyalty,” highlighting the importance of equity, fairness, and justice in governance.
He encouraged wealthy citizens to contribute to humanitarian causes and support faith propagation.

The event was attended by prominent political figures and religious leaders, including Sheikh Musa Animasahun, Chief Imam of Osogbo and Grand Imam of Osun State
