The moment came as the President addressed dignitaries at the ceremony and made a playful statement that triggered laughter in the hall.
Tinubu joked that he could send Akpabio “to the other side” to represent him and added that he could “scatter them anyway you like,” describing others as being confused.
The remark was made in a relaxed tone during the official event, which brought together top government officials and stakeholders.
The President’s joke comes amid rising political tension involving the African Democratic Congress (ADC), which has alleged attempts to destabilise its activities by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The ADC has also claimed it faced intimidation in securing venues for its events, allegations that have been denied by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
Wike dismissed any claims of interference, stating that no political group was being targeted unfairly.
