Rt. Hon. Bello Goronyo, Minister of State for Works, highlighted that the strong allocation to security reflects the President’s determination to protect lives and property.

Speaking through his Special Adviser on Media, Abdullahi A. Mohammed, Goronyo said sustainable development is impossible in an environment undermined by insecurity.

“The prioritisation of security in the 2026 budget will safeguard citizens, boost investor confidence, and unlock economic opportunities,” Goronyo said.

He further commended the significant allocation to road infrastructure, noting that the construction, rehabilitation, and completion of federal highways will ease transportation challenges, reduce travel time, and lower vehicle operating costs.

Improved roads will also enhance access to markets, schools, healthcare facilities, and other essential services.

According to Goronyo, combining security and infrastructure investments with ongoing economic reforms, fiscal discipline, and initiatives in education and health will help alleviate current hardships, drive job creation, and improve quality of life for Nigerians.
