Shehu Sule Udi, a known ally of former Jigawa State Governor and ex-Minister of Defence Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, announced his resignation from the APC, citing what he described as a deviation from the party’s founding ideals at local, state, and national levels.

In a formal statement confirming his move, Shehu Sule Udi declared his alignment with the ADC, stating that the decision was made with full conviction and a commitment to the party’s principles and vision.

“I, Hon. Shehu Sule Udi, hereby formally and publicly declare that I have officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC),” he said, pledging active participation in strengthening democratic governance and party development.

The Shehu Sule Udi Defects to ADC development has generated significant political attention in Ringim, where he is widely regarded as a strong grassroots mobiliser with deep influence among local voters.

Political observers say his defection could strengthen the ADC’s visibility and structure in the region, potentially encouraging further realignments among his supporters and allies.

However, some members of the APC have dismissed concerns over the impact of his exit, insisting that the party remains firmly rooted and dominant in the area despite the latest political shift.
