In a strongly worded social media post on Wednesday, Zelensky warned that Russia is showing “no signs” of ending the war and stressed the need for coordinated diplomatic pressure to achieve a just and lasting peace.
“Pressure must be exerted on Russia for the sake of a fair peace,” Zelensky stated.
“We must learn from Ukraine and our partners to prevent deception on the part of Russia.”
Zelensky’s appeal comes amid heightened diplomatic momentum.
His delegation has already held over 30 high-level conversations with world leaders and senior officials in the lead-up to the Berlin summit.
The talks are being held ahead of a scheduled meeting between Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Despite recent Russian advances in the eastern Donetsk region, Ukrainian officials say the military developments have not affected the diplomatic strategy.
A senior official travelling with Zelensky confirmed that preparations for the summit remain unchanged, even as Russian troops reportedly made gains near the Dobropillia mining area.
Zelensky acknowledged the setbacks, admitting Russian forces had advanced by up to 10 kilometres.
However, he firmly rejected any notion of territorial concessions as part of peace negotiations.
“We will not swap land for promises. There is no lasting peace if it is built on the sacrifice of sovereignty,” he said.
The Donetsk region, still fiercely contested, remains central to the Kremlin’s objectives.
Russia continues to claim parts of the region as its own, despite international condemnation and sanctions.
As global leaders converge in Berlin, Zelensky is urging them to avoid falling into what he described as the “deception trap” of the Russian state.

He underscored that true peace can only come through unity, transparency, and an unyielding commitment to justice.
