Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the 16th and current President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, assuming office in May 2023. A veteran politician often referred to as “Jagaban,” he previously served as the Governor of Lagos State from 1999 to 2007, where he is credited with laying the groundwork for much of the state’s modern infrastructure and financial autonomy. Before his governorship, he was a Senator for Lagos West in the Third Republic. He is a key figure in the formation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and has been a significant force in shaping contemporary Nigerian politics.
