The two prominent politicians received their NDC membership cards in Abuja on Sunday after a closed-door meeting with top party leaders.

They were received by former Bayelsa State Governor Seriake Dickson, who serves as the party’s national leader, at a gathering that drew supporters and political associates.

Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso was first presented with his membership card before Peter Obi, a moment that triggered cheers from supporters present at the venue.

The meeting took place at Dickson’s residence in Guzape, where supporters under the Obi-Kwankwaso Movement were seen chanting “O-K is okay” as both leaders arrived.

The NDC National Chairman, Cleopas Moses Zuwoghe, formally issued the membership cards at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.

Their entry into the party follows weeks of political speculation surrounding the future direction of key opposition figures and ongoing discussions about a new political platform.

Speaking after the event, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso said consultations with party stakeholders revealed strong ideological alignment within the group.

Peter Obi, on his part, called for unity within the party and urged members to avoid internal disputes that could destabilise the new platform.
