Members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) joined the leaders for the scheduled appeal hearing, which seeks to clarify the legal status of the party’s leadership amidst a prolonged internal battle.
The PDP has been embroiled in a bitter tussle between factions loyal to the party governors and those aligned with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
The conflict has escalated in recent months, with both camps reportedly expelling members loyal to the opposing faction and dissolving rival state chapters.
The standoff previously prompted the Police to seal the party’s national secretariat, highlighting the severity of the internal crisis.
Legal experts say the Court of Appeal ruling could provide a decisive verdict on the control and management of the PDP ahead of upcoming elections.
Party insiders describe the hearing as a critical moment for the party’s unity and electoral strategy, as prolonged leadership disputes have threatened to weaken its organisational cohesion at both national and state levels.
