PDP 101st NEC Meeting begins July 23 in Abuja to address internal reforms, party unity and 2027 election strategy with top leaders in attendance

PDP 101st NEC Meeting is set to begin on Wednesday, 23 July 2025, at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.

The three-day gathering marks a critical step in the Peoples Democratic Party’s efforts to reposition itself ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, described the meeting as strategic and inclusive.

He confirmed that proceedings will run from Wednesday through Friday, with each day’s session beginning at 2pm.

The PDP 101st NEC Meeting will bring together a broad spectrum of party leaders, as outlined in Section 31(1) of the PDP Constitution (amended in 2017).

Attendees include the National Chairman, all serving and former PDP Presidents and Vice Presidents, the Chairman and Secretary of the Board of Trustees, and all BoT members.

Ologunagba noted that the NEC gathering will also host PDP principal officers from the National Assembly, 18 serving senators, and 24 serving members of the House of Representatives.

In addition, PDP state governors, national officers, state chairmen and former officeholders remain eligible to attend, provided they are still active members of the party.

According to Ologunagba, “PDP is the only party with the structure, national spread and credibility to unseat the APC. There is no community in Nigeria where you won’t find PDP members. Nigerians are tired of failed governance and are eager for the return of the PDP.”
