Oyo Speaker Adebo Ogundoyin says he rejected inducement linked to alleged plot to impeach Governor Seyi Makinde in Oyo State
The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Adebo Ogundoyin, has disclosed that he rejected a monetary inducement allegedly offered to him to support an impeachment move against Governor Seyi Makinde.

The bribery allegation emerged in a statement made available to DAILY POST on Tuesday, amid rising political tension in the state.
Ogundoyin, who represents Ibarapa East State Constituency, said he was approached with an offer but declined it without hesitation.
He insisted that no financial inducement could compromise his loyalty to the governor, the Peoples Democratic Party and the people of Oyo State.
The speaker also addressed reports alleging meetings with the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja, and former First Lady Florence Ajimobi in connection with the purported impeachment plot.
He clarified that any such engagements were related to seeking royal blessings regarding his political ambition, not any destabilisation agenda.
Ogundoyin stressed that he remains committed to the integrity of the House of Assembly and will not participate in any action capable of undermining the state government.
“I was offered monetary inducement, but I declined without hesitation because no amount of money can buy my conscience or compromise my loyalty to the Governor, the party, and the people we were elected to serve,” he said.
He reaffirmed that his position remains aligned with stability in the state legislature and support for the current administration.

The development comes amid unverified reports of political manoeuvres within the state assembly.
