Oyo APC candidate Alli says the party is strategically positioned for 2027 as campaign managers are inaugurated to strengthen grassroots mobilisation
Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Oyo State, has expressed confidence in the party’s campaign organisation as the APC intensifies grassroots mobilisation ahead of the the BSA/Adedeji campaign team at the APC Campaign Office in Dandaru, Mokola, Ibadan senator, who represents Oyo South in the National Assembly, said the APC was working towards winning the presidential, National Assembly, governorship and House House of Assembly elections in Oyo State in 2027,” Alli said2027 general elections.

Alli made the statement on Monday at the inauguration of Local Government Campaign Managers for the BSA/Adedeji campaign team at the APC Campaign Office in Dandaru, Mokola, Ibadan North Local Government Area.
The senator, who represents Oyo South in the National Assembly, said the APC was working towards winning the presidential, National Assembly, governorship and House of Assembly elections in Oyo State.
“We are strategically positioned to win the presidential, National Assembly, governorship and House of Assembly elections in Oyo State in 2027,” Alli said.
He acknowledged, however, that electoral success would require sustained engagement with voters and stronger party structures at the grassroots.
“But victory requires hard work at the grassroots. We must go to the people, engage them and strengthen our structures across the state,” he said.
Alli charged the newly inaugurated campaign managers with strengthening the party’s presence across local government areas, wards and communities.
He said their responsibilities extended beyond campaign events to regular engagement with party members, supporters and other stakeholders.
“Our Local Government Campaign Managers have a major responsibility to ensure that the APC is firmly rooted in every local government, ward and community,” Alli said.
He also urged APC leaders and members to maintain unity and work collectively, arguing that the party’s campaign would depend on effective coordination rather than individual efforts.
“This is not about individuals. It is about the party and our collective responsibility to build a stronger APC in Oyo State,” he said.
The inauguration is part of a broader campaign-building exercise that began earlier in the year.
Alli emerged as the APC’s governorship candidate in July, with Adesoji Adedeji unveiled as his running mate.
At the unveiling, the party also emphasised reconciliation and grassroots mobilisation as part of its preparations for the 2027 contest.
The campaign structure was subsequently expanded.
In July, Alli appointed Yemi Aderibigbe as Director-General of the campaign organisation, citing his experience in grassroots mobilisation and political organisation.
Days later, Sola Ogunbode was named Deputy Director-General, while Lowo Obisesan, Asimiyu Alarape and Rasaq Raji were appointed Assistant Directors-General for Oyo South, Oyo Central and Oyo North respectively.
Aderibigbe, who spoke earlier at Monday’s inauguration, described the exercise as another step in the APC’s preparations for the 2027 elections and urged members to work together to consolidate the party’s structures.
The campaign’s emphasis on local organisation comes as political parties in Oyo State begin building their machinery well ahead of the 2027 polls.
Alli’s campaign organisation has also outlined policy priorities including education, security, agriculture, digital transformation, healthcare and infrastructure.
Alli’s prediction of an APC sweep across Oyo remains a political claim rather than an established electoral outcome.
The 2027 election has yet to be held, and the strength of competing parties and candidates will ultimately be determined by voters at the polls.

For now, the APC’s strategy in Oyo is centred on organisation, party unity and direct engagement with voters, with the newly appointed local government campaign managers expected to play a central role as preparations gather pace.
