The party has called on the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court to investigate suspicious actions surrounding the case.
The dispute began after the Osun State Government dragged the Federal Government before a Federal High Court in Osogbo to prevent the Central Bank of Nigeria from releasing funds to APC-elected council officials.
The state government has criticised attempts to transfer the case to Abuja, describing it as prejudiced and hinting at foul play.
Sunday Bisi, Osun PDP Chairman, spoke to newsmen in Osogbo, highlighting concerns over letters assigning the case to a judge, allegedly signed by Joshua Ibrahim Aji, who claims to be an aide to the Chief Judge.
Bisi said these letters, signed by individuals not judicial officers, raise serious questions.
“We, the People’s Democratic Party in Osun State, therefore call on the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court to immediately probe these irregularities.
He must investigate how and why persons, purportedly working in his office, who are not judicial officers, are signing letters that carry the force of judicial authority,” Bisi said.
He added, “We demand accountability. We demand transparency. Above all, we demand respect for the rule of law.”
