The governor made the declaration on Thursday while receiving the management of the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) at the Governor’s Office in Akure.

Represented by his deputy, Olayide Adelami, Governor Aiyedatiwa stressed that science and technology remain vital tools for innovation, efficient governance and long-term economic advancement.

Governor Aiyedatiwa said the state was open to meaningful collaboration with credible institutions capable of unlocking new development opportunities.

“Science and technology remain central to modern governance and economic advancement,” the governor said.

“As a government, we are willing to collaborate with institutions such as NASRDA to move Ondo State forward.”

He praised NASRDA for its role in national development, particularly in the use of space technology for research, governance and resource management, and assured the agency of the state government’s readiness to explore mutually beneficial areas of cooperation.

Earlier, NASRDA Director-General, Dr Mathew Adepoju, said the visit was part of efforts to strengthen engagement with the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) over the proposed integration of the Federal University of Aerospace and Aeronautics, Oka-Akoko.

Dr Adepoju urged the Ondo State Government to consider NASRDA’s proposals on deploying space technology to enhance sustainable development and effective resource utilisation.
