Ondo APC aspirants formally endorse President Tinubu for 2027, launching grassroots mobilisation to support his re-election bid
A group of former political aspirants in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has formally endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the 2027 general election, unveiling a statewide grassroots mobilisation campaign to bolster his re-election bid.

The group, operating under the Aggrieved Aspirants Forum (AAF), announced the endorsement yesterday during its quarterly meeting in Akure.
Taiwo Agunloye, the forum’s team leader, cited Tinubu’s “ongoing reforms, stabilisation efforts and commitment to rebuilding key national institutions” as reasons for their support.
Agunloye, whose members include former aspirants for state and federal legislative seats, governorship primaries, and local government elections, explained that the forum would leverage its political networks and community influence to deliver Tinubu’s message directly to the grassroots.
“The coalition will embark on community engagements, ward-level sensitisation, and targeted outreach programmes aimed at strengthening voter confidence and countering misinformation ahead of the 2027 election,” Agunloye said.
The group acknowledged past grievances, including alleged neglect in the 2014, 2018/2019, and 2023 election cycles, noting that some members had suffered personal and political hardships.
Despite these experiences, the forum insisted its renewed support was guided by public interest, highlighting improvements in security, declining food prices, and a stabilising exchange rate.
Agunloye also praised the Minister of Interior, Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, for engaging with the group’s concerns and called for continued federal support.
Tiamiyu Atere, lawmaker representing Akoko North-West Constituency I in the Ondo State House of Assembly, assured members of governmental attention to their issues, promising to liaise with Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

The AAF’s initiative represents a coordinated effort by former aspirants to actively mobilise grassroots support for Tinubu’s 2027 presidential bid, signalling a consolidation of backing within Ondo State ahead of the next election cycle.
