Omo-Agege Unveils Ambition for Delta Central Senate Seat marks a significant political move for the former lawmaker, who previously served as Deputy Senate President in the 9th National Assembly and contested the Delta State governorship election in 2023.
Omo-Agege lost that gubernatorial race to Sheriff Oborevwori of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who has since defected to the APC, alongside former governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
Despite these developments, Omo-Agege has firmly opposed their entry into the APC, stating that both political figures are not welcome in the party.
He made this position clear during meetings with party leaders and stakeholders in Ika South and Ika North East Local Government Areas.
He maintained that the APC remains the dominant political force in Delta State, citing the party’s performance in recent elections, where it secured two senatorial seats and two House of Representatives seats, while gaining ground through ongoing defections.
Omo-Agege also highlighted the political strength of the APC in Delta Central Senatorial District, noting that the party won the senatorial seat and two out of three House of Representatives positions in the area.
