Ogun PDP supports Tinubu’s reelection bid for 2027, calling him “father of the nation” and uniting with Southwest leaders to ensure his return to office
Ogun PDP supports Tinubu’s reelection as the party made a surprising public pledge to back President Bola Tinubu for a second term in 2027, citing regional loyalty and national leadership.

Speaking at the official flag-off of the Remo Federal Constituency by-election campaign on Monday, State PDP Chairman Abayomi Tella declared that the Southwest wing of the Peoples Democratic Party had unanimously agreed to support Tinubu’s return to office.
“He is from the Southwest and the father of the nation. We are committed to ensuring his reelection from 2027 to 2031,” Tella stated.
The by-election, scheduled for August 16, follows the passing of Hon. Adewunmi Onanuga, the late Deputy Chief Whip of the House of Representatives.
The constituency includes Sagamu, Remo North, and Ikenne.
Tella encouraged party members to resist intimidation and affirmed PDP’s dominance in the region.
Meanwhile, PDP’s National Vice Chairman Kamorudeen Ajisafe relocated the Southwest Zonal Secretariat to Ogun for stronger campaign coordination, backing candidate Bola Oluwole.

Former gubernatorial candidate Oladipupo Adebutu linked the PDP’s support for Tinubu to hopes for a peaceful, fair, and credible election.
